Nice to meet Ya!
I'm a photographer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. I specialize in interiors, architecture and travel. I currently live in Santa Cruz and work through out the Bay Area.
I’ve always been an explorer. I was born in Colombia and raised on the East Coast. People often ask how I came to be a photographer… the truth is I blame my father. The man is inherently curious. I think he still reads the newspaper from front to back most days. When I was a kid I would often find him watching Nat Geo or Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom. I remember my wonder as we watched together. Sometimes it was images of Diane Fossey and her gorillas and other times it was the beauty of the Taj Mahal. My dad always loved traveling. Although I don’t remember us ever boarding a plane as a kid.. I do remember having to “hold it” a lot on our many road trips. Not surprisingly he also loved photography. When I turned 12, his old Yashica became my first camera.
My first solo adventure began right after high school when I enlisted in the Marine Corps (what better way to explore than to leave the oppressive rule of mom and dad !?). At the ripe old age of 18, I was deployed to Japan for a year (Konichiwa!). The end of my enlistment lead me to the sunny shores of southern California, where I earned my undergraduate degree in biology (I really wanted to be Diane Fossey!) and began working in the science field. In 2010 , I got this crazy idea to leave the science world behind and go to art school! My mother thought I was insane…. I told her she should blame my dad for putting all those crazy ideas in my head with his TV habits! They both happily attended my MFA graduation from the Academy of Art University in 2012!
You can usually find me by the ocean, it's my favorite place to be! I am always on the hunt for great cupcakes, burritos , surf (the small wave kind) and dreaming about my next trip.
